The house

The list is up.

America’s habit of not waiting was practiced in a coffee house. On Exchange Alley in London sat the official market. Businessmen of the day needed permission to buy and sell there. Young upstarts unwilling to wait walked across the street to Garraway’s.

Anyone could walk in. Anyone could post something on the shop wall. Anyone could put money on what was posted. No crown. No committee. Ordinary problems in an ordinary room.

The digital Garraway’s is that room again. Operators list what is in front of them. Donors send the money. Nobody asks for a hall pass.
